Allow formatting in set tags
It is not currently possible to supply formatting in set tags (e.g. if I have a value stored as a string that I want to convert to a number - to do maths on it)
I have to: Create an out tag (setting it as a variable) and perform the required formatting - put this tag in white text so it's not displayed
Ideally I would like to have all the options I have available for formatting an Out tag in a Set tag
Unfortunately since this issue has not gotten any additional votes since it was entered, it does not demonstrate sufficient priority for us to target for development. Thank you for your idea, and I will keep the functionality you mentioned in mind. I do agree that users should be able to cast values to certain types so they can work with them in their templates. Please submit any other ideas you have for our consideration.

Set Tags are fundamentally variables and do not have value, and the Out tag allows you to display that raw value. As such, it doesn't make sense for us to apply formatting to Set Tags like you can do with Out Tags.
We'll keep an eye on this post and if we see mroe traction we'll consider options for some type of workaround or advanced functionality for you. Thanks!
