One of the things we use the Windward Engine for is to generate HTML (based on templates) that is then sent out via email.
But a lot of mail clients don't support the way the Engine handles <img> tags (with the src property as an inline base64 encoded string).
Since multipart MIME is supported by many more mail clients, it would be great if the Windward Engine could generate its output in multipart MIME format!3 votes
Currently, when a drop down is created in a cell (static or dynamic) the drop down is removed when the report is generated.
Either add a Windward drop down function (ideal), or support Excel generated drop downs.
Another helpful addition to this would be to make the drop down options distinct (optional, chosen by user).3 votes
Would like the RESTful engine to be able to return plain text instead of base64 encoded response for CSV output
Would like the RESTful engine to be able to return plain text instead of base64 encoded response for CSV output requests. Currently, all responses are returned base64 encoded which wouldn't be necessary for a CSV report just plain text would be better.3 votes
A TAG to hide all what is coming up after this TAG, this could be a large calculation, tables etc. A TAG to put at the end to show again what is coming after. This could be the same TAG with a hide/show flag.
In the same TAG we could have an additional flag if the calculations between HIDE/SHOW are active or not.
If would be very helpful if we could put this TAG between IF/ELSE/END_IF.3 votes
It is useful to re-use templates and just connect them to a different (similar) datasource. However depending on the values, charts can stop displaying properly. Legends may get cut-off for example.
It would be nice if charts were smarter and automatically adjusted to new data.3 votes
An enhancement to the TEXT function that allows me to format numeric fields in either standard (1,321.36) or Euro (1.321,36) formats is required. The ability to select this in the "formatting" field would be perfect as I could reference a SET tag that I create based on user selections and then have one or the other formats flow through my document.3 votes
It is not currently possible to supply formatting in set tags (e.g. if I have a value stored as a string that I want to convert to a number - to do maths on it)
I have to: Create an out tag (setting it as a variable) and perform the required formatting - put this tag in white text so it's not displayed
Ideally I would like to have all the options I have available for formatting an Out tag in a Set tag3 votes
Our business needs to output in XML format in addition to existing formats offered by Winward Autotag.3 votes
If the style checkbox "quickstyle" is checked in the template, it should not be unchecked in the final report.3 votes
Find out by the AutoTag report template itself which AutoTag version has been used for development of the template3 votes
I am currently building a new template with changing XML data sources and values.
The values prove to be no issue as the new data is simply pulled into the Output.
However, if the XSD/XML changes, say the data point name, then the Output just ignores the Autotag ie. null value inserted in Output. The validation tool doesn't identify 'broken' Autotags and actually states that the validation was successful. This also applies to the 'Preview' button, which returns a null but doesn't mention that the data point couldn't be found.3 votes
With the Salesforce.com Datasource there isn't a way to switch the salesforce.com instance used to a sandbox instance.
Sandbox instances use test.salesforce.com as opposed to production and developer instances which use login.salesforce.com to create the connection.
Our template authors do not always have access to the production instance to do development of templates.
Also we usually run User Acceptance Testing against sandbox instances.
So without this functionality we are unable to develop or test new autotag templates.2 votes
AutoTag claims to support basic authentication on json requests. However, when trying to connect to Jira, Windward's authentication doesn't work. Having basic authentication work would allow us to run custom reports against the Jira API.1 vote
It would be SO COOL to have a browse button from the query pane in the Import Tag's Tag Editor to choose your file/url/etc.1 vote
Implement a configuration parameter that changes the Report Designer default output directory from the current %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\temp.1 vote
I have reviewed your request and update this ticket again when we have decided weather we will accept this into our code. Thank you for your idea!
The installation process for AutoTag v14 does not indicate that .NET Framework v4.5 is required. the AutoTag Add-on will appear in Word, but not function properly. Please indicate in the installation materials, as well as in the installer itself, that .NET Framework 4.5 is required.1 vote
Hi, Currently Licenses are associated with major versions. If new version downloaded then its needs new license key even though the contract is valid during that duration. It create the lot of issues as we have global user base and coordinating and sharing new license key is problem. Instead of generating the new keys , on your side the old licenses key should be automatically associated with new version if the contract is valid during that duration. This is applicable for Autotag as well as .NET Engine. Please consider this change on priority as we as planning to upgrade the new version

I have entered your idea and will update you when we have decided weather to incorporate this into the code. Thank you for your recommendation!
Be able to use a tag element value to define conditional formatting parameter value:
Something like this:
<wr:out select=”!/root/ap/qu/elements/c_clau1” condition=”=TRUE::cellcolor!!!/root/ap/qu/elements/c_color::false”/>
<wr:out select=”!/root/ap/qu/elements/c_clau1” condition=”=TRUE::cellcolor!!ff8800::false”/>1 vote
Using the OfficeToPDF feature involves significant additional time and part of it seems to involve the startup of Word application. Suggestion is to have a running instance in the background and use it for all related requests/processing.1 vote
Hello Again Reporter!
One of our support team updated me that this issue persists even when an instance of Word is running since additional instances are opened for additional requests. I am re-opening this idea and we will still watch to see if we receive additional votes to see if there is more demand.
Thank you for you patience!

The chart tag at the moment only detects values within the data source, causing inconsistencies between values/color (e.g. risk levels) across multiples of the same report.
It would be great to include the functionality to manually add entries to the Chart Tag legend. This would allow consistency creating reports that require uniformity in values and colors.1 vote
